this review is so old that it still refers to the site as poker dot com as a poker room. Since this was written a lot has happened with this room which was originally on the Merge Poker Network.
Poker dot com was a poker room on this network and operating from that rather exclusive domain name. Then the owers decided to sell the domain name – for $12 million, who wouldn’t? – and move the poker room to a new domain called pdcpoker.com. The PDC stood for Poker Dot Com. That worked out well enough.
The original domain address became an affiliate portal site.
Then the owners of PDCPoker launched a new site on the merge network, called Carbon Poker, while continuing to operate the earlier site.
Thiings were good for online poker operators back then, it seems. After some more ups and downs, the owners of these two sites collected some more sites on this network, closing some and merging others. Finally, after a long and varied life as an online poker room, PDC poker was shut down and all its players were moved to the Carbon Poker room. Same software, same owners, just a different name in effect.
That makes the review we have below so out of date as to be quaint.
Poker com is now in its third year of operation. In its time online Poker.com has build a loyal player base, both for tournaments and for ring game play. Choosing to build their own software and network, Poker.com has concentrated on providing as realistic an online playing experience as possible, and this seems to have paid off.
Concentrating on Texas Holdem and Omaha, poker.com has good traffic at both, though like most online rooms the play is concentrated on the Texas hold em tables.
Poker.com offers a 100% deposit bonus up to 100%, use bonus code 100PERCENT during sign up. Aside from that, Poker.com really shines when it comes to free rolls. With $100 free rolls every three hours, and weekly guaranteed free rolls with prize pools up to $20,000, Poker.com really is the place to go for online free roll tournaments.
All new depositors also get entry into the $500 new players free roll.
Of course, as a premium online poker room, players have the option of ‘free’ play, should they need to get used to the software.
Poker.com has a thorough and well regarded customer service department for support, questions and suggestions, and they are available 24/7.

Rather than use generic software, Poker com have developed their own software and spent a lot of effort in getting the graphics as realistic as possible.
Poker.com offers lobby music, instant hand histories, win statistics, note taking support, and the option to tag players as, for example, “sharks” or “fish.”
An overview of the site is easily obtained in the lobby, which displays stats such as average pot, hands player per hour, and viewed flop percentage.
Poker.com updates their software regularly, so check the site for the latest developments.
